PROJECT BRIEFING:

For SS23, Sneeze brings back the iconic iteration of the Superskate that was mounted on the Campus tooling when the shoe was reintroduced in collaboration with streetwear label Bape in the early 2000s. This was an evolution from the ’70s vulcanized version that allowed the shoe to be more suited for skateboarding. The SS23 iteration has been further adapted with a slimmed-down silhouette, resulting in the most skate version to date.

Sneeze wanted to toughen up the shoe further and saw the laces and eyelets as an opportunity. A reduced number of eyelets (now 8, down from 10) and a wider lace (12mm instead of the standard 6mm) gives the shoe more attitude. Stylistically, Mr. Sneeze designed these to be laced just over halfway up without a care in the world, and encourages skipping an eyelet or two — some muss, no fuss.
